Emily Martin is a classical pianist, composer, and educator based in Manhattan. Dedicated to presenting dynamic and thoughtfully-curated solo and chamber music concert programs, Emily is currently performing the programs 250: A Celebration of American Piano Music and Visionary Women. Emily has performed at venues including The Guggenheim Museum, Weill Recital Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Steinway Hall, St. Bartholomew’s Church, Gracie Mansion, as an Artist-in-Residence at Manchester Music Festival (2014), and at halls in Spain and Italy. A Steinway Educational Partner and member of the Piano Teacher’s Congress of New York, Emily maintains a thriving private piano studio and is on the Instrumental Faculties of The Spence School and Lucy Moses School. An active composer, her piece Night Thoughts (2025) was commissioned by the Piano Teacher’s Congress of New York for their 2026 20th/21st Century Festival and was premiered by the festival winner at Merkin Hall. Most recently, she made her film scoring debut with compositions for the short film “Study/Break,” which will premiere in 2027. A native New Yorker, Emily received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance from New York University where she studied with Seymour Bernstein and Eteri Andjaparidze, respectively. When not making music, Emily enjoys the outdoors, cooking, and playing croquet. She is on the Board of Directors of the Piano Teachers Congress of New York and the New York Croquet Club.
